​Founded in February 2010 in Port-Gentil, Gabon, The Thirteen Foundation is the vision of Stéphane Lasme, a former professional basketball player with a distinguished career. As a proud native of Gabon, Stéphane’s journey—from representing his national team to competing in top international leagues—has made him a role model for aspiring athletes. Driven by a passion for sports and a deep commitment to giving back, he established The Thirteen Foundation to create meaningful opportunities for children and young people in his home country.Through dynamic sports programs, the foundation not only promotes fitness and nutrition but also integrates academic support, fostering the holistic development of its participants. By instilling values of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance, The Thirteen Foundation empowers youth to excel both on and off the court.Beyond sports and education, the foundation actively addresses critical community challenges. In partnership with Gabon’s National Malaria Control Program (PNLP), The Thirteen Foundation plays a key role in the fight against malaria, contributing to prevention, treatment, and awareness efforts. This commitment to health and well-being underscores the foundation’s broader mission of driving lasting social change.Stéphane Lasme’s impactful career in basketball has seamlessly evolved into a legacy of philanthropy, ensuring that The Thirteen Foundation continues to uplift and inspire future generations in Gabon.
